Representative Sandra G. Scott embodies a distinguished career as an Educator, former School Board Member, and Chief Deputy Whip for the Georgia Democratic House Caucus. With a forthcoming role as Chair of the National Foundation of Women Legislators (*NFWL) and a legacy including Vice-Chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), Recording Secretary for the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL), and Executive Board Member for the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL), she brings a wealth of leadership experience to her advocacy.A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and Veteran, Rep. Scott's daily mission is centered on improving lives. Her relentless commitment is evident in her advocacy for veterans, seniors, children, people with disabilities, and everyday citizens. She confronts pressing issues such as homelessness, veterans' needs, housing security, foreclosure prevention, HOA regulations, poverty among students, and equitable transportation funding for schools. She champions common-sense gun legislation, mental health support in schools and jails, comprehensive healthcare access, justice reform, reducing infant and maternal fatalities, safeguarding reproductive rights, and promoting livable wages for all Georgians.Her mantra, 'If I can help one person, put a smile on someone's face, give someone a reason to keep fighting, then I know my living won't be in vain,' exemplifies her unwavering dedication to public service.
